Jameis Winston Unlikely To Remain With Saints

Published: Feb 27, 2023 at 01:50 AM
New Orleans Saints quarterback Jameis Winston is expected to play elsewhere next season. The 29-year-old only played in three games for the Saints this past season. He dealt with fractures in his back, which caused him to miss most of the season. Now, the Saints are likely to cut Winston and save some money this offseason. The organization could save $12.8 million by cutting him with a post-June 1 designation. The quarterback problem is far from solved in New Orleans, but the team does have Derek Carr on their radar. At this point, it sounds like Winston will be a backup or possible bridge quarterback for another organization next season.
