Jakobi Meyers Unnecessary Lateral Cost Patriots The Game
Published: Dec 19, 2022 at 01:44 AM
New England Patriots wide receiver Jakobi Meyers caught two of six targets for 46 yards and a two-point conversion in Sunday's 30-24 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders. The 26-year-old had a touchdown reception called back after the Pats called a late timeout. Sunday's loss to the Raiders was a game Meyers would like to forget. With no time left on the clock, Rhamondre Stevenson lateraled the ball to Meyers, who then backpedaled about 20 yards before trying to lateral the ball back to quarterback Mac Jones. However, Meyers' lateral to Jones was intercepted by Raiders linebacker Chandler Jones, who took it all the way to the house to give the Raiders the win. "Trying to do too much and trying to be a hero," Meyers said after the game. The NC State product will look to put Sunday's gaffe behind him against the Bengals in Week 16.
