Jaire Alexander "Doing Better" Despite Logging DNP On Wednesday

Published: Jan 17, 2024 at 07:56 PM
Green Bay Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander (shoulder, ankle) did not practice on Wednesday, but head coach Matt LaFleur said, "He's doing better. He's getting treatment, and we'll see where he's at tomorrow." Alexander has been banged up seemingly all season and came into the NFC wild-card round questionable with shoulder and ankle injuries and aggravated his ankle ailment in the win over the Dallas Cowboys. The 26-year-old intercepted quarterback Dak Prescott to put the Packers in the red zone early in the game, and his absence would leave a significant hole in the Green Bay secondary against studs like Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel on Saturday against the 49ers. Since it's a playoff game, he'll likely play if he's close to being relatively healthy, but Thursday's practice report and game status will bring more clarity to the situation.
