Irv Smith Jr. Expected To Be Starter

Published: May 01, 2023 at 12:33 AM
Cincinnati Bengals tight end Irv Smith Jr. is expected to be the primary option at tight end for this offense heading into next season. It was a bit surprising to see the Bengals pass on drafting a tight end during the most recent NFL Draft. Hayden Hurst left for the Carolina Panthers in free agency. That left Drew Sample and Smith as the primary tight ends on this roster. It appears that the Bengals are completely fine with their current situation at tight end. To be fair, this offense is loaded at wide receiver, so they might not target the tight end spot frequently next season. Regardless, it appears Smith has the No. 1 spot at tight end locked up right now.
