Diontae Johnson Shining At Training Camp
Published: Aug 03, 2023 at 10:56 PM
Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Diontae Johnson has been quietly shining through one week of training camp and seems to have corrected a big issue from last year. Johnson has pretty much been the most productive receiver in Steelers team periods so far. The 27-year-old former third-round selection in 2019 has been making some nice contested catches. Johnson saw plenty of volume in 2022 with 147 targets, but his efficiency suffered with rookie Kenny Pickett throwing him the ball for most of the year, and he finished with 86 receptions for 882 yards and no touchdowns. It was disappointing after he had a combined 20 TDs his first three years in the league. Impressive wideout George Pickens and Allen Robinson II will take some targets away, but Johnson should still have a pretty healthy target floor as a WR3 in fantasy.
