David Montgomery Good To Go For Week 13

Published: Dec 01, 2023 at 08:58 PM
Detroit Lions running back David Montgomery (foot) was removed from the final Week 13 injury report on Friday and will play this Sunday against the New Orleans Saints on the road. Montgomery will continue to split backfield work with rookie first-rounder Jahmyr Gibbs as he plays through a minor foot injury. Gibbs has earned more work next to Montgomery in the second half of the season, but Monty remains fantasy relevant as a touchdown-dependent RB2 in starting lineups. The 26-year-old has seen 39 rushing attempts for 263 yards (6.74 yards per carry) and three touchdowns in three games since missing two contests with a rib injury. Montgomery is less attractive in PPR leagues, but he's been money for fantasy managers in 2023 with touchdowns in all but one of his eight games played.
