Chiefs Don't Know How Patrick Mahomes Will Respond

Published: Jan 29, 2023 at 05:01 PM
Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes (ankle) looked good this week, but there is true uncertainty about how his high right ankle sprain will respond during the AFC Championship game on Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals. Mahomes didn't do any sprints in practice this week and didn't go full speed at all, so the Chiefs have no idea how he'll respond in game conditions. The good news is Mahomes' ankle didn't swell up as much as expected earlier this week and he was able to practice all three days. The 27-year-old signal-caller can do things that most other players can't, but we'll see if he can be effective on a high-ankle sprain in a big game. While we'll never bet against Mahomes, fantasy managers shouldn't expect a ceiling performance in this one.
