AJ Dillon Sitting Out With Broken Thumb
Published: Dec 17, 2023 at 05:05 PM
Green Bay Packers running back AJ Dillon (thumb) has officially been ruled inactive to play in Week 15's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday. Dillon broke his right thumb on the final drive of Monday night's loss to the New York Giants and will need to miss at least one game. Meanwhile, Aaron Jones (knee) is returning from a three-game absence after spraining his MCL in Week 11. Given how thin Green Bay's backfield is, Jones should immediately return to lead-back duties, although Patrick Taylor could see a bigger role now that Dillon won't be active. Kenyan Drake it the other RB on Green Bay's roster. Jones will be back in play as an RB3/flex with upside for more this weekend. It remains to be see if Dillon will have a shot to return in Week 16 to take on the Carolina Panthers.
