Adam Thielen Could Be Cap Casualty

Published: Feb 09, 2023 at 11:21 PM
Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen could end up being cut this offseason. The 32-year-old wideout is set to have a cap hit of nearly $20 million for next season. It sounds like the Vikings front office and Thielen are currently working through some stuff. The Vikings could create $6.4 million in cap space by releasing Thielen, and $13.4 million if they release him post-June 1. The organization currently enters the offseason $23.4 million over the cap. That being said, the front office needs to find a way to save money this offseason, which could mean moving on from Thielen. The veteran wideout could very well take a paycut in order to stay in Minnesota. It'll be an interesting storyline to follow over the offseason.
