Aaron Rodgers Ends Darkness Retreat

Published: Feb 23, 2023 at 07:25 PM
Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has ended his darkness retreat as he tries to decide his playing future, according to the owner of the facility in Oregon where Rodgers spent the past several days and nights. The 39-year-old remains under contract with Green Bay for $59.465 million guaranteed if he plays in 2023. The four-time NFL MVP has played his entire 18-year career with the team. President Mark Murphy said this month that there was no deadline for Rodgers to make a decision, but he hoped for a resolution before the start of free agency. The New York Jets have inquired about trading for Rodgers, but the Packers aren't going to entertain any trade offers until they know Rodgers' plans for 2023 and beyond. He had one of the worst seasons of his career in 2022, but a change of scenery could help him bounce back.
