Aaron Jones Has MCL Sprain, Unlikely To Play Thursday
Published: Nov 21, 2023 at 08:21 PM
Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones (knee) is dealing with an MCL sprain, is being considered week-to-week and is unlikely to play on Thanksgiving on Thursday against the Detroit Lions, according to a source. Jones had to be carted off the field on Sunday in the Week 11 win over the Los Angeles Chargers and is highly unlikely to be able to play in Week 12 on a short turnaround. The 28-year-old could even be in question for the Week 13 contest against the Kansas City Chiefs. Rookie Emanuel Wilson (shoulder) was also injured on Sunday and isn't expected to play Thursday, so AJ Dillon (groin) should serve as Green Bay's lead back versus the Lions. The Packers signed Patrick Taylor and James Robinson for depth at the position on Monday. UPDATE: Jones was a DNP again on Tuesday.
