49ers Explored Trade For Lamar Jackson

Published: Apr 26, 2023 at 03:02 PM
The San Francisco 49ers have explored a trade for Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson this offseason, Dan Patrick said on the Dan Patrick Show. Jackson remains unsigned after having the non-exclusive franchise tag placed on him this offseason, which means that he can talk and sign an offer sheet with any NFL team. The Ravens then have the option to either match that offer sheet and keep Jackson or decline and receive two first-round picks for him. The 49ers want to move forward with Brock Purdy (elbow) as their starter, but he is recovery from offseason elbow surgery and may not be ready for Week 1. When healthy, Jackson has proven to be one of the most dynamic playmaking QBs in the NFL. For now, all signs point to him returning to Baltimore in 2023.
